数学プログラム Mathematics Program
数学プログラムでは， 数学の専門教育を通して数学体系の美しさ を学ばせ， 現代の研究に触れて研究に対する興味と動機を深め， 海外 の文献の購読や国内外との交流を通して国際性を育みます。 また， 数学における高度な研究能力及び専門能力と幅広い学識と と も に， 専門 知識の応用， 分析， 評価， さ らには， それら を統合して創造で き る能力を身に付けさせる こ と を 目的と し ます。 数学及びその関連分野の将来の発展を担う研究者， 産業界や他の科学分野に生じる課題を数理的に分析で き る研究者， 現代数学の本 質を理解し， それを反映した教育を行える教育者， ならびに論理的で緻密な思考力及び自由な発想力・創造力を兼ね備え， 数学者等と連 携して課題解決に取り組むこ とので き る技術者を養成し ます。
In the Mathematics Program, students recognize the beauty of mathematics through the specialized education of it, access the results of contemporary research to cultivate their interest and motivation towards research activities, and foster their international sense through reading English literature and communicating internationally. In addition, the Program aims to educate students to obtain not only advanced ability, expertise, and wide knowledge required for research activities in mathematics, but also the capability of application, analysis, evaluation, and integration of the expertise for creative activities. The Program aims to develop researchers who will engage in mathematics and related areas, who can mathematically analyze problems in industry or other scientific areas, educators who can understand the essence of modern mathematics and provide education based on it, and engineers who have the ability to think logically, who have free imagination and creativity and are capable of solving problems while cooperating with mathematicians and other people.
