物理学プログラムは， 物理学の幅広い専門的知識と論理的思考力を備えて， 宇宙物理学・天文学及び素粒子・原子核物理学， また， 放 射光やレーザーな どの先端光源を利用した物性物理学及び放射光科学を推進し， 基礎科学の教育研究の成果を通して広い分野で社会に 貢献で き る国際性に富んだ人材を育成する こ と を 目的と し ます。 自然科学の基盤学問と しての物理学について， 宇宙物理学・天文学， 素粒子・原子核物理学， また， 先端光源を利用した物性物理学と 放射光科学の幅広い専門的知識と真理を探求する手法を習得させ， 広い視野と柔軟な思考力， 研究・開発に携わる能力を備え， 社会の 課題解決に貢献で き る研究者， 教育者及び高度専門技術者を養成し ます。
The Physics Program aims to develop human resources who can promote research in astrophysics/astronomy, elementary particle/nuclear physics, condensed matter physics using advanced light sources such as synchrotrons and laser, and synchrotron radiation science with a broad knowledge of physics as well as logical thinking. The Program also aims to develop human resources who can work in international environments and contribute to society by utilizing their educational backgrounds and research experiences in basic science. The Program develops human resources who have expertise in physics, which forms the basis of natural science, such as astrophysics/astronomy, elementary particle/nuclear physics, condensed matter physics using advanced light sources, and synchrotron radiation science by participating in advanced research and pursuing scientific truths. In addition, the Program nurtures prospective researchers, educators, and highly-skilled engineers with broad perspectives, flexible thinking skills, and abilities for research and development so that they can contribute to solving various social issues.
